It’s tiiiiiiiimmmmme!!! We’re all looking for the perfect gifts to show our loved ones just how much we care. What better way to spread some joy than by gifting health and wellness items that inspire self-care, relaxation, and feeling fantastic?
As your chiropractor, I know how important it is to take care of our bodies and minds, and the holidays are the perfect time to encourage your friends and family to stay healthy and vibrant. I love a good gift guide so whether you’re shopping for the fitness enthusiast, voracious reader, or someone who needs a little extra relaxation this season, I’m excited to present you with my gift guide, inspired by the things I love and use every day!
Let’s dive in!
For the Wellness Girl:
- The Quencher H2.0 Flowstate™ Stanley Tumbler | Ole Trusty. I already drink a ton of water but that endeavor is made far easier by toting this tumbler around. If you or someone in your life struggle to get enough water intake, a trendy tumbler in a fun color, is just what the doctor ordered. Literally.
- Brumate Era 40 oz Tumbler | I recently upgraded my Stanley to a Brumate and I’ve got to say, the fact that I’m not spilling everywhere, has already made it worth it!
- Moon Juice Magnesi-OM Sleepy Girl Supplement | Sometimes you need a little extra help relaxing and getting a good night’s sleep. For the times that I’d rather read or scroll, this supplement helps me keep my sleep schedule. It has magnesium glycinate, the type of magnesium that works to help you relax, releases muscular tension and helps you fall asleep. It also has melatonin in it so make sure that’s something you want before purchasing.
- On Cloud – Cloud 5 Shoes | These are the only shoes that I can practice in! Everyone’s feet are different and require different things depending on how you spend your time but I swear by this brand.
- Apple AirPod Pros | I loveee my AirPods. I work out in them and satisfy my unhealthy TikTok addiction with them. I couldn’t have survived roommates without them and think they absolutely would have been valuable during undergrad in the dorm rooms! They make studying, working out, reading and plane rides a breeze.
- Fabletics Define PowerHold High-Waisted Legging | I have been living in these for at least a decade. I work out in them, treat patients in them and have more pairs than I want to admit. They hold up for years, don’t pill and have the perfect amount of compression.
- Massage Gun | I have found that as long as you read the reviews, any massage gun between $25-50 are just as reliable and good quality as the expensive brands. I use this one every day with patients. They’re great for managing muscle tension between visits, especially when combined with stretching while you use the gun.
Gifts for the Book Worm:
- Satin Pillowcase | This girl does most of her reading before bed. Required for bedtime reading? A satin pillowcase. It doesn’t just elevate your sleeping experience, it is better for your hair and skin!
- High Plains Spice Tea | Flagler’s own High Plains Spice is the best place to stock up on tea. Settling into bed with a cup of tea and a great book is an unmatched combo. I have too many favorites to list but alas I will try. I recommend their Cold & Flu Brew for sick days, Moroccan Mint, Lemon Balm and Mama To Be Tea which has fabulous ingredients which help ease menstrual cramps.
- The Black Witch Chronicles by Laurie Forest | Most gift guides for readers include Kindle accoutrements and fancy gadgets but I enjoy reading either with a physical book or on my phone with the Libby app. I wanted to be sure to include actual books on this guide. If your wallet is hurting from purchasing audiobooks and books, download the Libby app, add your library card and voila! Free books as far as the eye can see. At the beginning of 2024, I began The Black Witch Chronicles and was hesitant when other readers reported that it was as close to Harry Potter as they’ve gotten as an adult. As I wait with bated breath for the 5th book in the series to come out in 2025, I cannot agree more. It follows the powerless granddaughter of the legendary Black Witch, in a society that values magic above all else. When she’s offered a chance to study at Verpax University, she hopes to escape her grandmother’s shadow. But the university, home to magical beings and Icarals—sworn enemies of her people—proves to be a dangerous place for her.
- All the Murmuring Bones by Angie Slatter | Long ago, Miren O’Malley’s family prospered due to a deal struck with the Mer: safety for their ships in return for a child from each generation. For many years, the family has been unable to keep their side of the bargain. Miren’s grandmother is determine to restore their glory, even if the price is Miren’s freedom. A spellbinding tale of dark family secrets, magic and creatures of myth and the sea, of strong women and the men who seek to control them.
- Vanderbilt: The Rise and Fall of an American Dynasty by Anderson Cooper | I have a very random obsession with learning about the Vanderbilts. I highly recommend this book about this legendary, American family.
- An Ambience-Creating Candle | Sometimes you need a little bit more than a video of a fireplace crackling on YouTube in order to get in the reading zone. This is my favorite candle brand. If you want to shop local, I highly recommend checking out Be Witty Tallow!
Gifts for the Traveler
- Portable Charger | I can’t go on a trip without a portable charger because I will inevitably run down the battery and who wants to fight over the outlets at an airport?? I can’t imagine boarding a flight with no music and no ability to delete all my old screenshots. I can’t let that happen. A portable charger is a must.
- Beis Weekender | This incredible bag has been with me daily for 3 years! I am so impressed by the quality. It’s big enough to carry everything I need for my 8-10 hour weekly commute! It has a detachable bottom to accommodate extra packing. It comes with a laptop sleeve and a spot for your keys which has been a game changer. There’s also a pocket on the back that when unzipped allows you to slide the bag onto the handle of your carry-on. My shoulders are extremely grateful. This bag stands the test of time!
- Packing Cubes | Once upon a time, I went on a month long trip to Europe with a 45 lb bag on my back. I was working with a limited budget so instead of splurging (yes, $27 dollars was better spent on a pasta dinner in Italy than on packing cubes in those days) I packed all of my belongings in grocery bags. It actually absolutely worked, but these days I lovvvee my packing cubes. The ability to keep everything separate and orderly has made my 1-2 days away from home per week, not to mention the 44,000 weddings we went to this year, way easier!
- Brumate Hopsulator Slim | Every day, in order to satisfy my unhealthy caffeine addiction (do as I say, not as I do) I slip an Alani Nu into my Brumate and enjoy hours of ice cold caffeine.
Gifts for the Cook
- Seriously, So Good by Carissa Stanton | I have been obsessed with Carissa Stanton aka @broccyourbody’s recipes for years. She embodies how we can all eat well, eat healthy but still enjoy the great food life has to offer. Her debut cookbook has already introduced me to some new staples/favorites to add to my repertoire.
- Thrifted Glassware | I have spent the last year thrifting glassware for my bar cart as well as the events I have thrown. It is so fun to go out and hit thrift stores, looking for unique glassware. I look forward to using my collection at future hosting opportunities and know that any cook would be grateful to receive extras (especially because I’m great at breaking champagne flutes).
- Garlic Press | There are so many kitchen gadgets that I never bothered to purchase because on a college budget, they seemed superfluous. Now that I’ve gotten my hands on a select few random kitchen gadgets, my life is forever changed. I laugh now when I see a recipe call for minced garlic. Fat chance that I will ever mince garlic again now that I have one of these puppies.
- Citrus Juicer | When I moved in with my fiancé, this was one of the gadgets that he brought into my life that seemed unnecessary but has become instrumental in my day to day life. It helps me create my Black Bean Tacos!
- Electric Wine Opener | When I received this, I had just decided to participate in Dry January. I hoped that I’d be able to take advantage of its convenience. It has been so valuable! It makes opening, serving and storing a breeze.
- Charcuterie Board | You are receiving this gift guide from the charcuterie queen. The gifts of charcuterie boards that I have received over the years have come in handy time after time. When I saw this one with a locking lid, I knew I had to share it! Packing up all of your groceries, boards and utensils then assembling them at your location can be a logistical nightmare. It would be life changing to be able to assemble your board, cover and lock it up, then safely and smoothly transport it to your party.
The End!
I sincerely hope that you have enjoyed this gift guide and that it has inspired you to spread the love and spoil your friends and family! If you’ve run out of ideas and still need a little extra, may I suggest a gift card to Ease Health & Wellness 😉
